It’s that time of the year again, Cubs, when we get to watch Mark get his butt handed to him every fight! No, but seriously… when will this guy win a fight?
For those unaware, on March 18, the first three episodes of Invincible dropped, with the following episodes coming out every subsequent Wednesday. So if you haven’t watched the first three episodes, stop reading here, as I will be going over some spoilers below.
Episode one opens with a montage of Mark and some other heroes fighting off bad guys. Mark blames himself for the people killed in the Invincible War and the Conquest fight, and refuses to take a break from being a hero. Things don’t get better for Mark from there, as he has to go to an awkward dinner with Eve’s family.
Meanwhile, Cecil is trying to rebuild the Guardians of the Globe, but this new roster is not what it once was. Robot asks if he can lead the team, but is quickly shut down by Cecil, and fans of the comics know that Robot isn’t someone you get on the bad side of.

Additionally, Mark has to make a tough decision when faced with the Sequid invasion, and he kills an innocent person to prevent a disaster.
When asked about the ethicality of that decision, Grant Hong ‘27 stated, “Yeah, it’s a tough decision. On one hand you are potentially saving the lives of everyone on the planet, on the other hand, you are also killing an innocent human being. It’s tough to blame Mark, since he was under a lot of stress at the time.”
As a cherry on top of an already perfect day for Invincible, Conquest breaks free from his prison and flies into space.
Episode two is the first episode in the show’s run to really give us a look into what life was like on Viltrum. From brutal birthday traditions to deadly diseases, life as a Viltrumite isn’t easy.
Also introduced in this episode are the Rognarrs, Space Racer, the most incompetent space captain ever, and the moment that everyone’s been waiting for, the first look at Thragg. Fans of the comics know that Thragg is going to make Conquest look like a pleasant memory.
Episode three brings things back to Earth, and there’s a lot happening. Titan and Machine Head are reintroduced, and it turns out Mr. Liu, the old man who can transform into a massive green dragon, is very much still alive and coming for Titan.
Oliver gets a new job, Robot and Monster Girl leave town, and Eve comes to a shocking, but not necessarily surprising, revelation. Oliver, with the help of his older brother, is able to send Mr. Liu flying away, but Mark has some strong words with Titan. And to top it all off, Machine Head is able to patch things up with all the criminal leaders.
This new season started off really strong, with Invincible Season Four still boasting a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Given that today is a Wednesday and tomorrow is asynchronous, you guys should have plenty of time to catch the episode that just dropped!
