On February 1st, 2026, the music industry’s greatest artists came together for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards.
Album of the Year: Bad Bunny (Benito) was awarded album of the year for his album DeBI TiRAR MaS FOToS. This was the first time that an all-Spanish-language album won Album of the Year, a historic moment for the Puerto Rican artist. Breaking traditional barriers and norms, Benito produced a highly outspoken album at a time when the topic of immigration and Hispanic identity was and is still a major issue within the United States. Benito used his opportunity on a global stage to publicly address the sensitive topic of ICE.
Record of the Year: The record of the year was awarded to Kendrick Lamar and SZA for their masterpiece, “Luther”. Kendrick’s unique rapping style, when synergized with SZA’s vocals, bridged the gap between classical and modern music. The song was dedicated to the late Luther Vandross and sampled Luther and Cheryl Lynn’s 1982 “If This World Were Mine”.
Song of the Year: Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell won Song of the Year with Wildflower, continuing Billie’s streak of winning the Grammys. Not utilizing mass production like other nominees, Wildflower returned to a “minimalist storytelling”. The trophy also signified the duo’s third song of the year trophy.
Best New Artist: British soul singer, Olivia Dean, won the best new artist award, beating a very competitive group of nominees, including KATSEYE, Sombr, and many other renowned artists. Her album The Art of Loving topped the charts and she opened Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet” tour late last year. Due to her amazing talent and determination, she was able to secure the award.
