On Wednesday, May 25, the Loyola community gathered in Xavier Center to celebrate the final school-wide liturgy.
Celebrated by the Rev. Fr. Stephen A. Barber, S.J., the Mass featured a homily by theology teacher Deacon Derek A. Brown, and senior Henry Welsh delivered the Salutatorian Prayer of Thanksgiving.
At the end of the Mass, Welsh stepped onto the stage to give his prayer. Welsh said, “The relationships I’ve made here with my classmates, coaches and teachers definitely influenced me the most when I was writing the prayer. Those relationships are ones that I will cherish and remember for the rest of my life, and they are what makes the Loyola experience great,” said Welsh.
