Purpose: Students take a one-day trip to visit and tour San Diego State University, University of San Diego and University of California, San Diego.

Purpose: Students travel to our nation’s capital to lobby for comprehensive immigration reform, environmental justice, and changes to U.S. foreign policy in Central America.
Winter Europe Experience

Purpose: Students travel to Italy for an opportunity to develop a greater global perspective and deepen their appreciation for culture, art and travel.
East Coast College Tour

Purpose: Current juniors travel to visit state schools, top-tier Jesuit institutions and the Ivy League.
Honors Astronomy Class Trip
Led by: Mr. Andrey Aristov

Offered to grades: Seniors in Mr. Aristov’s Astronomy class
Purpose: Students enrolled in Honors Astronomy are invited to travel to Tucson to visit some of the top astronomical sites in the U.S. including Steward Observatory, Kitt Peak and the Mirror Lab on the campus of University of Arizona.
California College Tour

Purpose: Juniors visit various private and public California colleges and universities.
Midwest College Tour
Led by: Mr. Terry Caldwell and Ms. Daryl Crowley

Purpose: The tour begins at the University of Michigan and makes its way down to Chicago, visiting a variety of colleges and universities located in the central region of the country.
Speech & Debate: Tournament of Champions
Led by: Mr. Michael Overing

Offered to grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Purpose: Throughout the year, the Speech & Debate team travels to Berkeley, Calif.; Dallas, Tex.; Salt Lake, Utah; Minneapolis, Minn.; and Las Vegas, Nev. The Tournament of Champions, an invitational tournament, takes place at the University of Kentucky.
Discover China Experience
Led by: Mr. Michael Mikita and Mr. Dan Annarelli
Date: Summer 2016
Offered to grades: 10,11,12
Purpose: Students travel to China to learn about Chinese history, culture, art and language while visiting famous Chinese sites like the Great Wall of China, the Temple of Heaven, Xi’an and Colonial Shanghai.
West African Summer Trip
Led by: Mr. Roger Stewart
Date: Summer 2016
Offered to grades: 9, 10, 11, 12
Purpose: Students explore Senegal, Cote D’Ivoire and Ghana. The excursion is comprised of service, education, and cultural immersion.
New Orleans Immersion

Purpose: The New Orleans delegation will continue Loyola’s annual community service trip to help those affected by Hurricane Katrina. In past years, students have engaged in service activities such as volunteering at a daycare center, planting gardens and rebuilding houses.
National Junior Classical League Convention

The JCL team travels around the country competing in academic tournaments. This year, the team will compete in Irvine, Calif. and Bloomington, Ind.
Spain, France, & Italy Ignatian Tour

Purpose: Students have a unique opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Saint Ignatius in Spain, France and Italy while meeting students from other Jesuit high schools.
