As classes start and summer reaches its end, the most wonderful time of the year is back: the NFL season.
The NFL season has officially begun, and it’s time to root for your favorite team and draft in your fantasy leagues. From shocking off-season trades to incoming talented rookies, the 2025 season will not disappoint.
Beginning with the off-season, many teams signed talented players who could make or break their chances at a playoff appearance. After a mid-season trade last year, Davante Adams is yet again moving around—now to the Rams. With the addition of Adams to the Rams’ core wide receivers, they will have a powerful passing offense. The Seahawks, while acquiring previous Viking QB Sam Darnold, traded away two of their best players from the 2024-25 season: DK Metcalf to the Steelers and Geno Smith to the Raiders. Shockingly, the Cowboys traded their star player, Micah Parsons, arguably the best defensive player in the league, to the Packers for two first-round picks (2026 and 2027) and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark.
Avid Rams fan Vaughn Schroeter ‘26 commented on Davante Adams joining the Rams, saying, “Davante Adams is going to make a huge difference in the Rams offense. Of course, Puca Nacua will still be the main guy Stafford will go to, but Davante will be a really good WR2 target that will contribute to their receiver corps.”
In addition to trades and signings, NFL teams have gained talent from the 2025 draft. With JK Dobbins moving to the Broncos, the Chargers drafted Omarion Hampton as their new RB1. The Raiders also gain a much-needed star RB, Ashton Jeanty, who is currently favored to be Rookie of the Year (+260) and was the only rookie to be in the top 15 of fantasy picks. With an ADP (average draft position) of ~12, Ashton Jeanty places much higher than other rookies, such as Hampton with an ADP of 35. As for the Titans, after an abysmal 3-14 season, the team tries to upgrade their offense with rookie QB Cam Ward.
With all of this change, one question remains: How will these teams perform in the 2025-26 season? Well, for some, it will be harder than for others. Teams such as the 49ers, Patriots, Saints, Falcons and Bills are projected to have the easiest schedules, while the Giants, Browns, Lions, Eagles and Vikings will have the hardest.
Overall, the 2025 NFL season looks exciting. Will powerhouse teams like the Lions and the Eagles have another successful season, even with their tough schedules? Will talented rookies prove themselves on the national stage? With many off-season moves and major draft picks, it will be exciting to see how these players and teams perform in the 2025 season.
