Cubs In Action: Thomas Welsh ’14

Thomas Welsh ’14 is currently the starting center on the UCLA basketball team. Welsh has totaled 831 points, 677 rebounds and 114 blocked shots in his career. Welsh said, “Loyola was great in preparing me to manage my time, which is important as a collegiate athlete. Having to deal with team workouts, individual workouts, travel, and a rigorous class schedule, it’s easy to fall behind in class or miss out on sleep because of poor time management skills.” Welsh is averaging 13.2 points per game this season. He leads the team in blocks and rebounds per game, and had the second best field goal percentage in the Pac-12 during his sophomore season.
